Start: Victor to Driggs (8 miles, 10 minutes)

Driggs to Ashton (32 miles, 40 minutes)

Leaving Driggs, continue on ID-33, where rolling farmlands and sweeping mountain views line the drive. Spring brings lush green fields and grazing wildlife, making this stretch of road feel peaceful and scenic.
As you arrive in Ashton, known as the “Gateway to Mesa Falls,” you’ll find a small-town charm with plenty of outdoor beauty. If you need a snack before heading into the mountains, Five 11 Main serves up fresh sandwiches and homemade soups, perfect for a quick stop.

Ashton to Island Park (28 miles, 35 minutes)

From Ashton, take US-20 north and enter the expansive wilderness of Island Park. Known for its forests, rivers, and abundant wildlife, this region is a paradise for nature lovers.
One of the best stops along the way is Big Springs, one of the largest natural springs in the U.S., producing over 120 million gallons of water daily. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a moose wading in the shallows.

Island Park to Mesa Falls (24 miles, 30 minutes)

Heading south on the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, the road winds through dense pine forests, leading to one of Idaho’s most spectacular natural wonders:
Upper Mesa Falls: A towering 114-foot waterfall, where a short boardwalk trail leads to an incredible overlook. Feel the mist on your face as the water crashes below!
