Start: Victor to Driggs (8 miles, 10 minutes)
Kick off your road trip by heading north on ID-33 toward Driggs, where the Grand Teton Mountains create a breathtaking backdrop. Springtime in Driggs is lively, with green meadows, blooming wildflowers, and crisp mountain air, making it a perfect place to stop for breakfast.
Start your day at Provisions, a fantastic local eatery offering delicious Mexican-inspired breakfast, house-made pastries, and fresh coffee. Whether you go for their hearty breakfast burrito or a flaky croissant, you’ll be set for a day of adventure.
After breakfast, take a quick stroll through town, visit a local boutique, or stop by Rise Coffee House for a to-go latte before continuing north.
Driggs to Ashton (32 miles, 40 minutes)
Leaving Driggs, continue on ID-33, where rolling farmlands and sweeping mountain views line the drive. Spring brings lush green fields and grazing wildlife, making this stretch of road feel peaceful and scenic.
As you arrive in Ashton, known as the “Gateway to Mesa Falls,” you’ll find a small-town charm with plenty of outdoor beauty. If you need a snack before heading into the mountains, Five 11 Main serves up fresh sandwiches and homemade soups, perfect for a quick stop.

Ashton to Island Park (28 miles, 35 minutes)
From Ashton, take US-20 north and enter the expansive wilderness of Island Park. Known for its forests, rivers, and abundant wildlife, this region is a paradise for nature lovers.
One of the best stops along the way is Big Springs, one of the largest natural springs in the U.S., producing over 120 million gallons of water daily. If you’re lucky, you might even spot a moose wading in the shallows.
For those wanting a short nature walk, Harriman State Park offers easy hiking trails along Henry’s Fork of the Snake River, where you can spot birds, deer, and even the occasional bear in the distance.
Island Park to Mesa Falls (24 miles, 30 minutes)
Heading south on the Mesa Falls Scenic Byway, the road winds through dense pine forests, leading to one of Idaho’s most spectacular natural wonders:
Upper Mesa Falls: A towering 114-foot waterfall, where a short boardwalk trail leads to an incredible overlook. Feel the mist on your face as the water crashes below!
Lower Mesa Falls: A quieter, more secluded spot just down the road, perfect for capturing stunning photos.
Spring is the best time to visit, as the falls are at full volume from melting snow, creating an awe-inspiring sight.

Mesa Falls to Tetonia (30 miles, 40 minutes)
Continuing the loop, drive south toward Tetonia, a quiet farming town with unmatched views of the Grand Tetons.
Stop at Teton Basin Overlook for an unobstructed panoramic view of the mountain range—a must-see photo opportunity. If you’re hungry, Badger Creek Café offers delicious homemade pies and fresh sandwiches, making for a wonderful afternoon treat.
Tetonia to Victor (10 miles, 15 minutes)
The final stretch of the drive brings you back to Victor, where you can unwind and relax after a full day of exploring.
