To the delight of skiers who are overly fussy about snow conditions, Grand Targhee Resort in Alta, Wyoming delivers the goods! Since opening their beautiful slopes to anxious skiers in December 26, 1969, with the Bannock & Shoshone chairlifts, Targhee earned bragging rights immediately the moment the lifts propelled skiers to the top of Fred’s Mountain. This Wyoming gem can easily boast having some of the most consistent powder-filled slopes in North America year after year. Grand Targhee sits on the western slope of the Grand Teton Mountains and frequent storms slam into these massive granite slabs of rock that rise 13,700 feet into the atmosphere. Targhee’s season typically kicks off Thanksgiving weekend and continues well into spring. At the end of any given season, the snow stakes measuring the white gold inevitably tops an average of 500” inches total snowfall.
